Presenting an all-new holiday light experience that combines spectacular sets and lighting design with the enchanting environment of the L.A. Zoo. Stroll through areas of the Zoo that are transformed into a fantastical wonderland populated by glowing light animals. The Inspiration: Councilmember Tom LaBonge

One of the driving forces behind L.A. Zoo Lights has been 4th District City Councilmember LaBonge, who wanted to partner with GLAZA to provide Angelenos with a holiday experience to replace the beloved LA DWP “Festival of Lights,” which ended its run in Griffith Park in 2008. Gregg Lacy has made a name for himself in the theater and music worlds as a conceptual, inventive, hands-on set designer and artist. “I wake up and get to create something new every day – having a blast the whole time,” Lacy says. For L.A. Zoo Lights, he’s teamed up with John McGuire of lighting design firm Bionic League, famed for their work for Daft Punk, Nike, Target and others.
